歡迎光臨小小倉頡中文教室,這個平台將提供福德中文學校的小朋友課後延伸學習。

中國文字對身居海外的小朋友而言，乍看之下筆畫繁瑣，非常難以了解，若未加以引導，單純強迫反覆操作練習，學習必然困難重重。然而中國文字從象形慢慢演變而來，每個文字都是一個獨特而有意義的畫，不論大朋友或小朋友都以此為出發點認識中文，就會覺得中文字是如此興味盎然。因此，我以造字始祖-倉頡為名，從倉頡的故事開始，讓孩子了解中國文字形成的故事背景，再讓孩子在學新字時，先觀察這些字長的像甚麼，並適時導入文字部件的觀念，學習中文就不會是痛苦的事。

Dear parents and advanced users:

Welcome to Little Cangjie Chinese classroom. This  learning platform allows students of Fu De Chinese School to practice and learn more after school.

Chinese characters are so complicated for children who have not grown up in the Chinese culture. If we just force them to memorize the characters, both the children and us (teachers and parents) must suffer through a very hard learning process. However, Chinese characters were created or developed from pictographic characters. All of them have special meaning and are interesting. We should help our kids and friends learn characters by studying these, rather than by rote memorization. That’s why I named the website Little Cangjie — after Cangjie, the inventor of Chinese characters. By studying his work, children can learn the story behind the characters. They can see where they came from, and then parents and teachers can teach them the components. Learning Chinese doesn’t need to be hard . It can be fun and exciting!

If you, like me, want to help pass on the beautiful heritage of Chinese culture, feel free to use this website as a place to educate your children on some of our cultural traditions. If you’re not yet familiar with the characters or the culture, perhaps this can be a good starting point as well — just start from Cangjie’s story!
