My name is Chin-Chin Fan and I like to share a little bit of information about myself. I am a native Chinese speaker and was originally from Taiwan in 1993. From almost a decade of teaching experience, I have taught Mandarin to small groups and large; worked with students as diverse as Chinese kindergartners of American parents and college students from Ethiopia. I worked at Denver Language School as a full-time immersion Mandarin teacher between 2010 and 2012. These were classes of 25-30 students, aged 8 to 10. During this time, I have had the opportunity to further refine and polish my teaching techniques including adopting digital tools into my daily teaching practice, developing an interactive class website which benefited the students’ at-home learning, implementing differentiated teaching methods to meet individual students’ academic needs, and incorporating project-based and performance-based curriculum into language instruction.
I have a family of four: my husband, two teenage daughters and myself. We have lived in Fort Collins for almost 23 years. In my spare time, I enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, traveling, music, arts & crafts, and yoga. For outdoor activities, I am most often found biking, hiking, skiing and swimming.
