\u201cThe shooting of 319\u201d, \u201dGold Leaf\u201d, \u201cCape No.7\u201d, Wansei Back Home\u201d, \u201cWarriors of Rainbow Seediq Bale\u201d , \u201c1895 Taiwan\u201d(The Legend of Formosa in 1895) and \u201cSino-Japanese War at Sea 1894\u201d, are the films and TV documentaries to represent modern Taiwan of evolution and records of Taiwan in different periods are like rewinding and reviewing Taiwan\u2019s modern history.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the time sequence of the evolution of modern events in Taiwan, after the Sino-Japanese War in 1895, the Qing Empire was defeated, and Taiwan was ceded to Japan. Since then, Japan has carried out colonial rule over Taiwan for 50 years. In the early days of Japanese colonization, there was resistance from Hakka, aboriginal and other ethnic groups in Taiwan who would rather die. Until Japan surrendered in World War II in 1945, Taiwan finally got rid of Japanese rule; during this period, the love and hatred between the people of Japan and Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the entanglements are intertwined, the private economic power has already been gaining momentum. It was not until 1949 that the Kuomintang (KMT) government moved to Taiwan to rule and operate, followed by political reform and development. Finally, through the popular election system, Taiwan become a democratic land that has undergone many party rotations.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will learn about the events below and development of Taiwan\u2019s modern history by watching these seven films and TV documentaries that represent the development of Taiwan\u2019s social and economic status in different periods.<\/span><\/p>\n

First of all, staring with the film depicting the current situation of Taiwan, we trace back to the history of Taiwan in 1895 during the Sino-Japanese War.<\/span><\/p>\n
