I am
G1-1 teacher Vivian Lai. Our
2013-2014 Chinese Class is going to start  this
Friday/Saturday.  September 13 /14.  Classroom is 355.We are going
off to an amazing
start and I am very excited for our upcoming year. This letter is to
inform parents to prepare stuff for your child in
the first day class. The following is stuff to prepare :

 

*Backpack

*pencil
case

*Pencil
crayon

*binder

*Snack and
drink

 

***Throughout the school year, parents are welcome
to email me or visit the school when there are questions or concerns
about a students progress.  Please know that I will respond diligently but
not during instructional time. That is, I will respond after instructional
hours either before or after school.***

* Please double check if your child bring text book B1 and work book A & B and pencil case since there were so  many kids forgot their books and pencils in Chinese class.

* Worksheet: 回、家、見/见、竹、馬/马and Pinyin practice

* Phrase review – 走路、 零食、汽車/车、 竹葉/叶、 花園/园、種/种瓜、飛蟲/飞 虫、開心/开 心

 I will give student phrase sheet this week .There are 8 phrases on it ,please cut them down and practice  at home with your child.

*The following is group singing schedule :

1. rehearsal Time : Nov.24 Saturday 1:00-4:00 pm at School cafeteria

2. performance Time : Nov.29 Thursday 7:00-9:00pm at Markham Theater

3. All group singing student should wear White shirt and Blue pants.

*The invitation of UHS-YRDSB International Languages Mandarin Program 20th Anniversary Celebration is attached.

* Students are welcome to wear custom to school this week for fun but "Not Have To Wear ".Ms.Lai is going to give kids sweet treat.

*The Minghua Chinese School 20th anniversary celebration, is scheduled to be held on November 29(Thursday night) at  

 Markham Theater  G1-1 Friday and Saturday Class are going to perform group singing (小星星/小花貓) on the stage.It is great  

 opportunity for your child to perform .I encourage all of students to join the group singing. If your child can not join the group  

 singing please let me know asap because I need to arrange the formation .

This week Sept.21/22 ,2012 homework notification

 Dear Parents,

This year  we  have 2 text books ( Living Mandarin K3 and Living Mandarin 1 ) and 3 workbooks ( workbook K3 and workbook A&B). Please remind your child bring  Living Mandarin K3 and workbook K3 this week. I am going to teach Living Mandarin K3 first . Also , please help your child write down their Chinese name on the new books. You can keep 3 CDs at home for practice .Wish your child have a happy learning in Chinese class !  If you have any question please feel free to contact with me . 

The following is this week homework notification : (Please do following homework after Chinese class not before the class ! Thank you )

 * K3-Lesson 1 & 2 review : Walk 走P.2-3 & Eat/Food 食P.4-5

*  K3-Workbook P.2-7( I will help students do workbook in the class if student couldn't finish it then students should finish it at  

   home .)

The Minghua Chinese School 20th anniversary celebration, is scheduled to be held on November 29, each class to be recommended by the above two programs. Program content: all forms of vocal music, instrumental music, dance, opera, martial arts, readings; performances by students, can be parents, if your baby or yourself willing to join the festivities to participate in the performance, Please let me know !

* School is going  to hold Karaoke Performance at cafeteria this Friday night /Saturday morning 6:45 pm ~8:45 pm/9:45 am ~11:45am. Parents are welcome to join with us. Don't forget having your child "wearing White  shirt and Blue pants". Please practice 泥娃娃/蝴蝶 at home.
