Like most cultures, China tends to use hand gestures to represent numeric value–but not in the same way westerners do. While numerals 1-5 are represented the same way on one hand, the Chinese have developed an ingenuous way to do all ten numbers on one hand. Please see below:

Chinese unlucky number4 : Numbers are an extremely important part of Chinese culture as they strongly influence everyday life from success and fortune like the number 8 or death like the number 4 While in Mandarin -speaking regions in China, 14, 24 and 74 are considered more unlucky than the individual 4, since 14 sounds like “wants to die” (要死), 24 like “easy to die” (易死), and 74 like “will certainly die” or “will die in anger” (氣死).
講完數字禁忌的故事後,每人拿出作業本,寫下我有多少,任何從一到十的數字,蓋住後,由鄰座的同學猜,如:我有多少?你有三,猜對了!情投意合的朋友組有獎品喔~
