Lesson Plan: Chinese (Fourth grade)
2021~2022 Chinese中文 (Fourth grade)
This class provides an immersion in Chinese culture through traditional Chinese songs, interactive arts, crafts, and compilations of hands-on-activities made for the Smart Board, PowerPoint, and Blog. Students will learn to count in Chinese, learn greetings, and how to follow rules in Chinese. Basic American Sign Language will also be used to communicate Chinese words. Students are expected to communicate in Chinese.
Students will have hands-on-experience with Chinese culture as they are guided in the process of making Chinese food. Students will also be learning to do Chinese dance sequences as well as learning to sing Chinese folk songs.
There are no homework assignments for this class. Class materials will be provided on the class blog, which is available for review outside of class.
There is a class blog, which will be updated with recorded in-class performances.
We will be using “Living Mandarin 1,2,3,” and “Better Chinese” for Learning Chinese textbook, which will serve as an overall guide to the course. I have also selected a set of reference books that will work well with the class.
