2025 Chinese Culture Youth Camp Counselor Application

Camp Overview:

The GPACLS 2025 Chinese Culture Youth Summer Camp will be held from July 21 to July 25, 2025. The program will feature two professional guest teachers from Taiwan and two experienced local art instructors. Over the course of five days, campers will engage in seven enriching classes each day, focused on Chinese arts and traditions.

Classes include:

Chinese Arts and Crafts
Chinese Folk and Traditional Dance
Chinese Folk Sports (including Chinese Yo-Yo)
Chinese Calligraphy and Painting

Camp Counselor Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2025 to qualify as a camp counselor.

Students aged 14–15 are encouraged to apply for the Assistant Counselor position. Applicants in this age group will be evaluated by camp officials, and qualified candidates will be notified accordingly.

Camp officials reserve the right to determine final placements for all counselor and assistant counselor positions. Participation privileges may be adjusted or revoked at the camp’s discretion.

Food and Accommodations:

All counselors and assistant counselors are required to stay overnight at the campsite throughout the week, alongside teachers and volunteers.
Meals will be provided, and all counselors will dine with the camp staff and volunteers.
The cost for food and accommodations is $290 for all approved counselors and assistant counselors.

Counselor Responsibilities:

- Attend a mandatory pre-camp meeting on Monday, July 20 at 7:00 pm
- Participate in all required camp meetings and activities.
- Assist teachers with class preparation and group activities.
- Supervise campers during recess and meal times.
- Support instructors and campers during classroom sessions.
- Help with setup and cleanup before, after, and between classes.
- Serve as a positive role model and active participant in all camp events.
- Demonstrate respect and a cooperative attitude toward all teachers, volunteers, and fellow team members.
