The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival

The
Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 seasonal division
points in China, falling on April 4-6 each year. After the festival, the
temperature will rise up and rainfall increases. It is the high time
for spring plowing and sowing. But the Qingming Festival is not only a
seasonal point to guide farm work, it is more a festival of
commemoration.

 

 

On
each Qingming Festival, all cemeteries are crowded with people who came
to sweep tombs and offer sacrifices. After slightly sweeping the tombs, people offer food,
flowers and favorites of the dead, then burn incense and paper money and
bow before the memorial tablet.

 

People also enjoy hope of
Spring on this day. The Qingming Festival is a time when the sun shines
brightly, the trees and grass become green and nature is again lively.
Since ancient times, people have followed the custom of Spring outings. 

 People
love to fly kites during the Qingming Festival.

 

The
Qingming Festival is also a time to plant trees

本週六小考第十一課和第十二課,請爸爸媽媽務必陪孩子複習課文,生字,詞語和句子練習

We
are going to have a quiz tomorrow, and please be sure to review Lesson
11 and 12's text, new words, phrases and sentence practice.

請家長幫忙小朋友將發回去的功課和課堂講義整理好放到三孔夾,請務必訂正發回去的作業,每次上課請帶削尖的鉛筆,橡皮擦,白板筆,和一隻乾淨的襪子(用來擦拭的).

 Please assist your kids to put the homework
and class handouts into the three rings binder. Please be sure to correct the
returned homework. We will practice to write Chinese characters during class,
so be sure to bring sharpened pencils, an eraser, a black dry eraser marker and
a clean old sock for erasing.

十四屆全美華人運動會田徑賽定於4月 26日 (星期六)。所有的教師和學生們請於 8:00 早上到Mt SAC 運動場集合.當日請勿到 Lemon 校上課.

There
will be 2014 CCLS Track & Field on 4/26/2014.  All teachers and
students from CCLS 孔孟中文學校 will need to report at Mt. SAC Track &
Field location, 8 AM PT.  The Lemon campus will be closed on 4/26/2014. 

如果你的孩子喜歡參加拔河比賽及接力賽跑。請於4月5日前,每星期六上午九時至十二時,將填妥之報名表格及報名費送至孔孟中文學校辦公室(MPR)，向家長會辦理報名手續。 


拔河是一項非常講究團隊精神的運動。小朋友在付出汗水的同時也會對團隊合作有新的體驗。如果您有意讓您的孩子參加，附件是申請表。學校會承擔團體項目的報名費,您只須填好表格簽上名就可以了,本週六讓小孩帶到學校。

If
your child likes to participate in Tug-of-War, Relays or individual
events, please complete registration form and send to MPR
Office.  The due date to register is 4/5/2014.  Tug-of-war promotes
coordination as well as competition.  It is going to be fun and it will
show our teamwork. If
your kid is interested, attached file is the registration
form for you to fill out.  Please have your kid bring it to school this
Saturday. The School will pay for registration fee on all
group competition.

除了學生組, 孔孟中文學校也將報名爸爸、媽媽組的拔河與接力賽跑隊,請踴躍報名,和孩子們共同參與一年一度的華人運動盛會。

Parents,
you can also sign up parent teams of Tug-of-War and Relays.  Please
join your children to participate in this annual Southern California
Chinese School Track and Field.

海華運動會 Field Day 4/26 Saturday

如果您的孩子未滿八歲,想要參加拔河比賽,請在本週的作業單告知我,爸爸媽媽也歡迎參加,親子同樂.

If your kid is under 8 years old, you would like to join the tug of war in the field day,
please let me know.  Parents are welcome
to join in the adult group.

每次上課請帶削尖的鉛筆,橡皮擦,白板筆,和一隻乾淨的襪子(用來擦拭的).

請提醒小朋友千萬不可碰觸各教室內的Fire Alarm Box以免誤觸警鈴,若因誤觸造成消防車出動,需支付$500費用。

Please remind your kid not to touch the fire alarm box in each class.   There is a $500 fine for false fire alarm activation.


p.s.上課會看不見白板,需要戴眼鏡的小朋友,請上中文課也要記得帶眼鏡

二月十五日1A中文班引導寫作

我們學了五官,我利用引導寫作來複習五官,雖然不容易,但是很多小朋友寫出來的東西都很棒,老師真得很開心,請你們加油!

We learned about our face last two weeks, we reviewed this lesson by doing guided writing.  Although it is not easy, many kid did a amazng job.  I am so happy to see them doing so awesome.  Please keep going.
