Mummy you look pretty when you are teaching!

Finally packed up all my teaching gear into 3 big bags, walking towards to our car with the help of my 2 daughters… It was a real HOT summer day, as my girls would say, it's boiling!  The heat made the 2 mins walk seemed forever, nobody had much to say.  All I wanted to do was to get into the car, and turned the A/C on asap!! Suddenly, JieJie said, "Mummy you look pretty when you are teaching!"  "Do I?" I tried to sound enthusiastic.. "yes Mum, you look pretty.." MeiMei quickly added…"Oh, thank you!" I said.  End of story, too tired to talk.  Like a dehydrated plant trying to servive in the heat, I tried to drag my feet faster towards the car.

Somehow, I thought about my girls comments again tonight when doing the dishes. Trying to get the real meaning out of their words… the truth is, I could not put on lovely dresses for teaching as I need to be able to sit down with kids a lot of time, I have to wear pants.  So it wasn't not my outfits that impressed them.. Hmmm..I probably looked YOUNGER because I was working with young children? That would be right, spent time with kids made me look younger!

Well, if that's true, that will be one of the most rewarding feebacks from the efforts I have put in into my teaching so far^^

Give myself a pat on my back..

Maruko, my friend

When I almost gave up on creating 'Huayuworld Blog', saw this pic of Maruko posting on my FB…

Somehow she changed my mind, and I decided to give it a try!

Like Alice drop into Wonderland; I too, entered this Chinese Wonderland without any plan..

Last year I took up the voluntary teaching in my daughters'
weekend Chinese School which, I thought, to set up an example for my girls what
a second language could do for the community, and a great chance for them to
learn about Chinese cultural & speak the language in the foreign land;
well, I lost myself in a HUGE Chinese Wonderland… It opened up my eyes to a
whole new world.  A world that so many
new tech & soft wares are available to help kids to learn Chinese I never
knew, and the teachers all over the world are so willingly to share their
teaching resources via HuaYuWorld blog sites.

Hope this blog do help my little people & friends who
are also wondering in this MIGHTY Chinese Wonderland…
