1.『文房四寶』是指筆[笔], 墨, 紙[纸], 硯台[砚台]. 其中的『紙』是指宣紙. The four treasures are the brush, ink, paper, and the ink stone/slab. The paper we are talking about is xuan1 zhi3, which is very strong yet soft.
2. 書法和繪畫都可以用毛筆. 毛筆也可以收藏. You can use chinese brushes for chinese calligraphy or drawing. You also can use it for collection.
Dear Roselyn: Thank you for your comments, but I need your answer for Question 1 and 2.
I like the first video because the guy explains it, in English, and there are Chinese subtitles( but they’re in Simplified so I can’t read them :P). He explains a lot about the brush.
I also like the second one because it shows you the pictures of the thing they’re talking about, and include the Chinese and English word. It’s like vocabulary! 🙂
