  1. 我要說一些吉祥話。吉祥如意、大吉大利、年年有餘、年年高升、還有萬事如意。還有我屬猴。最後,十二生肖是鼠,牛,虎, 兔, 龍,蛇, 馬 ,羊,猴,雞,狗,豬。

  2. Korrie : You are Week2 #4 (+5)
It maybe causes by your computer security, don’t worry, I will run the video for your to watch tomorrow.

  3. I can’t see the videos because it says that the plugin crashed.

    1. Chinese New Year falls on January 31, 2014. The 12 animals are: Mouse, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. 2014 is the year of the horse and I’m also born in the year of the horse.

    2. 迎春接福 means to welcome spring and receive blessings. 萬事如意 means “everything as you wish”.

    3. Yu(leftovers/excess) sounds like yu(fish) so fish symbolizes excess. Other types of food that are usually eaten during Chinese New year are peanuts, oranges, apples, glutenous rice cake, dumplings, etc.

    4. The reason why we put chun and fu upside down is because we want chun and fu to “come” to us.

    5. The story tells us why we use firecrackers and the color red during Chinese New Year.

Happy New Year and 萬事如意,Cai Lao Shi!!!

  4. Henry : You are Week2 #3 (+2)
    1. I will show the video during class lesson, I checked the video it is OK. Don’t worry about it.
    2. But you still need to provide more feedback about what you learn from the teaching materials. Don’t just said ” I watched the videos.”
3.Yes, Tim was in our last t CSL3 class.

  5. Dear Sabrina : You are Amazing Week2 #2 (+8)

By the way, congratulation, you got first place on Academic contest 國畫A組第一名.And Jackie 恭喜高永真朗讀比賽CSL-B組得第一名。

  6. 1. The animals in order are:
Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig
    2. Auspicious means “favorable” as in, something will bring you favorable luck. Chinese have several auspicious words and foods. Such as the dumplings that look like gold, the long life noodles and the leftover fish which will bring prosperity to the next year.
    3. Fish sounds like excess, so having fish for the new year means they will have excess in the new year.
    4. Putting “Chun” upside down is because it is thought doing so will bring spring.
    5. New Year’s in the US is a terrible thing. People celebrate their new beginnings with too much alcohol, fireworks, and bad decisions. I don’t really get it… There are also New Year’s resolutions that almost never work.
    6. Red envelops with money are often given to unmarried young adults and children for good luck. I think it has to do with hoping that the child will grow up and prosper.
    7. Hahaha. This story explains why we have firecrackers and red clothes on New Years.
    8. I would have to see the scripts before I picked one… but I will probably pick whichever one is easiest for me to understand.

  7. 1. the twelve animals of the zodiac are the rat, then the ox, the tiger, the rabbit,, the dragon, the snake, the horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and boar. I am born in the year of the horse.
    3. yu(fish) sounds like yu(excess) so that indicates that every year they will have execss food.
    4. By putting spring and blessing upside down, that means that they are dao, or upside down. Dao also means arrive, so that means that spring and blessings have arrived.
