漢字的故事:考

「考」字與「老」字來自同一字源，亦係一個長髮老人家拄著拐杖的象形。老人家凡事小心­謹慎，故事「考」字有檢核和測驗的意思。

考 shares the same origin with 老, also depicts an old man with long hair leaning against a cane. Elder are very careful on every step, so 考 bears the meaning of examination and checking.
