猴子撈月Monkeys Scooping up the moon

中秋節的晚上，許多猴子在井邊玩兒，

On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, many monkeys played by the well,

有一隻猴子看見井裡面有個月亮，

A monkey saw there was a moon in the well,

他嚇得大叫：「不好了！ 月亮掉進井裡了！ 我們快把月亮撈起來吧！ 」He got scared and yelled: “Oh, No! The moon fell into the well!

Let’s hurry up and scoop up the moon!”

於是，猴子們一隻拉著一隻垂到井裡。

Thus, the monkeys held hands, one by another, dropping themselves into the well.

So, the monkeys dragged each other down into the well.

最下面的那隻猴子剛把手放進井裡，

As soon as the monkeys at the bottom out his hands into the well,

The monkey at the bottom just put his hand into the well,

月亮就不見了。The moon is disappeared.  The moon is gone.

他又大叫：「好了！ 月亮不在井裡了！ 」

He shouted again, “Now! The moon is out of the well!”

於是，猴子們都爬了上來。So the monkeys all climbed back up.

這時候，有一隻猴子抬頭看見月亮在天上，

At this time, a monkey lifted his head (looked up) and saw the moon in the sky,

就說：「好了！ 好了！ 月亮回到天上啦！

He said, “It’s done! It’s done! The moon went back up into the sky!”

我們把月亮撈起來了！ 」We have scooped up the moon! ”

大家高興地拍手說：Everyone cheerfully clapped their hands and said:

「好了！好了！ 我們把月亮撈起來了！」

Hurry hurray!  We scooped up the moon!”

小朋友！ 月亮真的掉進井裡了嗎？

kid! Did the moon really fall into the well?

這是怎麼一回事兒？
